FAQ

"The greatest stars of our time all started somewhere, a first step an initial meeting, that is the difference between those who achieve fame and fortune and those who do not - taking that first step" - Industry Advice

  1. What is the age range for meeting with industry representatives at a VIP Talent Connect Event?
Due to the fact we work with a variety of companies throughout the year, our age range may change for each event. Please contact your local office for our next event qualifications. As always, anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian over the age of 21.
  2. What can I expect to happen when working with some of the Industry Representatives?
You can expect to be treated professionally and with respect. All in attendance are there to share insights and help the talent achieve goals. At the same time, our networking sessions can lead to direct representation from castings and productions currently being offered by the Industry Representatives in attendance.
  3. What should I bring with me to the meeting?
That is something that is decided by our in office staff at your initial meeting. As with any other business, it will be different whether you are a dancer or model vs. an actor or singer. Either way, you will be responsible for your own marketing tools and how you go about getting them is entirely up to you. None of the individuals in attendance are there to sell you anything. It is important to remember; no matter where you go in the industry you should not be paying any type of upfront fees to an agent or agency.
  4. What if I can't make it to a specific networking event?
We currently hold multiple networking events throughout the year. Please contact a local office for upcoming schedules and times.
  5. What famous people and/or companies will be there?
Unfortunately, due to schedule conflicts and contract negotiations, we do not publicly address those in attendance, except certain guest speakers. If you are already on the guest list for attendance, you may contact a local office for updated information on upcoming events.
  6. Do you provide travel services, for out of state talent, to attend an industry networking event that is sponsored by VIP Talent Connect?
We are only a marketing company; we are not a travel agency. If you really want to make this happen getting to the event is just your first step. How you get there is your responsibility!
  7. Will I have the opportunity to perform at the event if I am a dancer or musician?
VIP Talent Connect will allow you to offer a brief performance time with certain industry representatives if time allows it. Remember this is not a competition. All those in attendance have gone to a screening process to attend. To learn more about how you can attend: please call your local VIP Talent Connect office or fill out our online sign-up page.
  8. Can I attend the event if I am already signed by a record label or a modeling agency?
Yes, you can definitely attend and be seen and meet with other agencies or producers, but as always, it is considered professional to let your manager of agency know that you are attending.
  9. What if I am a beginner or just starting out, is VIP Talent Connect a good way to break in to the industry?
That question is best answered by those in attendance that make connections that lead to a wide variety of opportunities. The difference between an amateur and a professional sometimes is just showing up, meeting with people and being seen. VIP Talent Connect was put together to help out beginners as well as those that are more experienced. The industry, in general, is always looking for new artists and VIP Talent Connect is a great place to start. VIP Talent Connect stands firmly on the belief that no matter how good of a singer/dancer/musician/ or model you are, everyone looking to break into the business is waiting to be discovered. Why don't you make the first step in opening the door to your future and actually meet the decision makers in the industry instead of sitting back and waiting for them to find you. If you need any further assistance please contact your local office.
